The preview of the Spanish MD Championship
Favorites, schedules, and where to watch it live
This year, Salamanca dresses up to welcome almost 900 triathletes in the Spanish Triathlon and Aquabike MD Championship.
This competition, which is held on Saturday June 17, it has become the Media Distance event with the most participation in Spain in 2023 outside of the IRONMAN brand.
Circuits
The transition and finish area will be located on the Tormes athletics tracks.
Swimming, a single lap of 1.900 meters, will give way to the cycling segment, in two laps of 45 kilometers to add up to 90 km.
The foot race, along the riverbank, will have two 10-kilometre laps.
Favorites
High-level athletes will be at the starting line, such as the 2021 MD Triathlon Spanish champion and third classified in 2022, Laura Gomez, and the current national champion, Fernando Zorrilla. Both are emerging as the favorites to take the title in this edition.
In addition to Gómez and Zorrilla, there is a long list of triathletes who will seek to surprise.
They stand out among them Gonzalo Fuentes, Iñaki Baldellou, Pello Osoro, Carlos Oliver, and alexander unzueta.
On the female list, names like Marta Sánchez, Chloe Serra, clohe Nicholas, Andrea Iglesias placeholder image, and Ana Caleya.
Schedule
The elite tests of the Spanish Triathlon and Aquabike MD Championship will begin at 15:15 p.m. for the masculine category and at 05:XNUMX h. for the feminine.
Two minutes later the Paratriathlon will start, and from 15:10 p.m. the Age Groups. The national Aquabike GGEE will start at 15:20 p.m.

This year the race will be broadcast live on the YouTube Channel of the Spanish Triathlon Federation, allowing sports lovers to follow every detail of the championship.
The monumental Salamanca, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, will be the setting for this great sporting event.
