The triathlon circuits for the Paris 2024 Games are already known

Today they have presented triathlon circuits of the Paris Olympic Games, where triathletes will tour areas of the heart of Paris with its emblematic monuments.

Competition will begin and end at the Pont Alexandre III, offering a unique experience for both athletes and the public and television viewers.

Circuit characteristics

Developed in collaboration with World Triathlon and relevant public authorities, these particularly demanding circuits for athletes were designed with safety and visual impact in mind.

Tour through the heart of Paris

Athletes will swim in the Seine before biking and running to iconic locations like The Grand Palais, The Little Palace, The national assembly, The Orsay museum, Champs-Elysees avenue, Avenue Montaigne, Quai d'Orsay y Quai Anatole FranceAs well as  Boulevard Saint Germain.

Swimming circuit in the Seine

The circuit of 1,5 km swim You will start from a floating pontoon located at the foot of Pont Alexandre III.

After swimming you will have to climb 32 steps to reach the transition area (swimming to cycling) on ​​the Pont Alexandre III, an unprecedented event in the history of the Olympic Games.

Cycling tour of the monuments of Paris

After the swim, the triathletes will begin el 40 km cycling segment with seven laps of 5,715 km each.

This segment will pass through emblematic places such as Avenue Winston Churchill, Le Grand Palais, Le Petit Palais, the Champs Elysees, Avenue Montaigne and cross the Seine via the Pont des Invalides towards the Quai d'Orsay.

You will continue along Boulevard Saint-Germain and return to the banks of the Seine via Rue du Bac, Quai Anatole France and Quai d'Orsay.

this tour will offer spectacular views from some of the most emblematic monuments of Paris.

Walking circuit through the heart of Paris

The last part of the race will be the 10 km foot race, four laps of 2,5 km each.

Triathletes will race through the heart of Paris, passing historic sites and iconic monuments.

La finish line will be located on the Pont Alexandre III, where 1.000 spectators will be able to witness the exciting outcome of the competition.

These demanding and technical circuits are a guarantee of the spectacle that we will experience next year.

mixed relay

One week after the individual events, it will be the turn of the mixed relay.

The test will be held at 8:00 a.m. 5th August 2024.

Around 18 teams made up of four triathletes (two women and two men per nation) will compete in this test to try to emulate Great Britain, the champions in Tokyo 2020.

As approved by World Triathlon, the female athletes will close the race with a relay order that will be: male, female, male and female.

Each athlete will complete a 300m swimming circuit in the Seine, 5,8km of cycling (two 2,9km laps) and a 1,8 km foot race (two 900 m laps) between the Pont Alexandre III and the Pont des Invalides.

Triathlon dates in Paris 2024

The Olympic Games individual triathlon events will take place on July 30 and 31, 2024, starting at 8 a.m.

Test event 2023

These circuits will be put to the test during the Test Events organized by Paris 2024 from August 17 to 20, 2023, in international triathlon and paratriathlon competitions.
