El Titan Sierra de Cádiz 4 will celebrate the tenth anniversary of 2014 in October and become one of the most traditional and prestigious events in the national triathlon calendar. In commemoration of this anniversary, and as a tribute to the more than 2.000 triathletes from all corners of the country who have ever faced this challenge, those responsible for the Titan have decided to organize a single edition with an extended distance: Titan X will consist of from 4 kilometers of swimming, 120 kilometers of bicycle and 30 kilometers of running (compared to the 2, 90 and 20 of the first nine editions).
Registration will open on Saturday 11 from January at ten o'clock in the morning. "We have enjoyed this event and its people for nine years and we are thinking of doing something really special on this tenth anniversary. The triathletes are more and more capable to face the long distance, to real prowess, so we are organizing what we believe is the biggest sporting and personal challenge of the year, a unique test not only for its hardness but also for the unique experience that involves facing the Titan and sharing that experience with the titans, "explains José González, one of the people in charge of the Sierra de Cádiz Titan

As news of the test, the Titan will summon the winners of the first nine editions. All the participants, up to a quota of 400, will take the start in the dispute against their own limits in the White Villages, along the mountain passes that mark the region and the Grazalema Natural Park, on the border between the provinces of Cádiz and Málaga.
The route has no loops or circuits that have to be turned over and over again. It is a journey, with beginning and end. It consists of four kilometers of swimming in the Zahara de la Sierra reservoir, at the foot of the monumental complex of the town .. It is followed by 120 kilometers by bicycle that includes the ascent to two great cycling routes: Las Palomas (from Zahara, 13,8 kilometers with a drop of 826 meters) and El Boyar-Las Palomas (from El Bosque, 19,6 kilometers of ascent with a 917-meter drop). For the first time, this circuit enters the province of Malaga, through the ascent to the Montecorto level, with unprecedented views of the reservoir.
The running race will consist of 30 kilometers between the reservoir of Zahara (where the transitions zone is located), the center of the town of Algodonales and again all the edge of the swamp before facing the final climb to the Plaza de Zahara de la Sierra after two kilometers of very hard ascension .
The Sierra de Cádiz Titan is organized by three friends who love this sport and stays out of the big commercial circuits. He was born in 2004, before the explosion of triathlon and long distance tests in the country. So It was an unprecedented initiative to be programmed at the end of the season and to include an unusual altimetry for the triathlon, which was usually played in flat circuits.
The format was consolidated in the calendar and today has reached for many triathletes the mythical test range.
