IVAN RAÑA "I see that everything can be easier, if we all row in the same direction"

The Olympic triathlete Iván Raña, through his Facebook profile, has published the following statements about the debate that arose on the occasion of the creation of a platform with the aim of uniting common interests of different people linked to our sport, with the aim of be heard and be able to take an active part in decisions of the federation, giving its objective point of view and that Triathlon News wants to share with its readers.

"A few weeks ago, an interesting idea emerged among people linked to Triathlon in Spain. Many athletes, some international, technicians, clubs and some organizer. This idea was to start a platform that united the common interests of the sympathizers, with the aim of being heard, respected and being able to be an active part of the decisions that will be made in the future of the federation.

Many people have seen little respect, not heard or simply believe that it can be improved. This Initiative does not intend to have a violent or aggressive character. It is not an attack against the current president, or against anyone, but an action in favor of triathlon. I like the idea. I will continue to support it while seeking respect and being able to have the right to speak and be heard, in order to improve.

Maybe some people have been attacked, the last writings are in sight. However, I know that they simply try to defend themselves against certain indirect hits. I do not want this to have warlike overtones, because it's not good for triathlon.

For my part, I just want to ask for some peace in this story. This does not mean that I get tired of asking for respect and being listened to. I am not going to attack the current president because my strength is sport and not politics. Nor will I deny that, in my opinion, the Federation needs changes in its technical structure. This is what I call ALTO and CLARO, and the years of experience in this sport (which go a few) are backed by the brands that have trusted me, the Federation itself, and more people who have helped me polish me as a triathlete. In recent months I have been a little apart from the national team, I do not feel comfortable in it. This has given me another perspective from the outside, and I see that everything can be easier, if we all row in the same direction.

It is clear that there will always be differences, but that is what dialogue is for.

Each person in the Initiative has their reasons to join it, but we are all united by our interest in improving the Triathlon. The particular interests must now be in another plane. Here is a common idea and is to move forward. The right to vote is clearly discussed, and the steps to do so are explained. This should not offend anyone.
