The LD 2016 Triathlon Championship travels to the US with great prizes

The International Triathlon Federation has announced that the Triathlon World Championship in Long Distance format will be held in Oklahoma.

The triathletes that face this test will have to travel 4 km of swimming followed by 120 km of bike and finish the race with 30 kilometers of running race.

But there is one more incentive to obtain the title of World Champion, since the organization has announced that they will share prizes for an amount of 90.000 $

This is the third time that a ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championship takes place in the USA. The last event based in this country was at 2011 in Henderson (Nevada) with the participation of more than 900 athletes, Muncie (Indiana), hosted at 1996. 

The USA has hosted numerous World Championships over the years, including the 2009 Duathlon World Championships and the 2012 Off-Track World Triathlon Championships. Chicago joins the 2014 Triathlon World Series before hosting the Grand Final and the World Championship for ages in 2015.

Already in the 2014 Weihai (China) will host the next September 21 the World Long Distance Triathlon Championship, while for 2015 it will be in Motala (Sweden)
