The XVII Fibes Fiestabike Andalucía - Triathlon of Seville that is celebrated next Saturday was presented yesterday at the Laredo Building, with the presence of María del Mar Sánchez Estrella, Councilor for Sports of the City of Seville; José María Merchán, president of the Andalusian Triathlon Federation and Vice President of the Spanish Triathlon Federation; José Manuel del Río, commercial director of FIBES; Beatriz Manchón, canoeist three times champion of the world; and Pedro Lumbreras, winner in the past Puerto de Sevilla Triathlon.

Sevilla is consolidated with this test as one of the great references of triathlon not only in our country, but also internationally, with the end of the World Triathlon Promaster and the European Championship By the end of october.

María del Mar Sánchez Estrella, Sports Councilor of the City Council of Seville: "Next year this test will be coming of age, and it does so when it is mature, with a important number of participants, 3000. Triathlon is a sport that has grown a lot in the last two years, so for the City Council of Seville it is a pride that the Andalusian Triathlon Federation has us. With an event of this draft we generate employment, overnight stays and those who come to know the city. "

José María Merchán, President of the Andalusian Triathlon Federation and Vice President of the Spanish Triathlon Federation: "We want to reiterate our commitment so that Seville has the place it deserves and is a sports benchmark. We started to organize this test as a dream, from 400 we have moved to 3000 and now we are an international reference ".

José Manuel del Río, commercial director of Fibes: "Our goal is to generate economy, and Sports is a great instrument for this. It is the first time that we make an incursion in this world, as a preamble to the Fiesta Bike Andalucía that will take place from 24 to 26 de Mayo. The Seville Triathlon is our sponsor, not us. "

Beatriz Manchón, canoeist three times champion of the world: "I am glad that this event reaches such magnitude and that it serves as an integration mechanism, through for example the Triathlon of equality (in which a man and a woman compete together for teams). I want to invite the fans to come to the Guadalquivir River, which has been my home for so many years training there. It has to be nice to compete under the canoe. "

Pedro Lumbreras, winner in the past Puerto de Sevilla Triathlon: "Whenever I go out to compete I do it to win. Afterwards we will see ... I want to encourage young people to participate in this event, because Triathlon helps you grow. "

Pedro Lumbreras himself is one of the favorites to win the triumph in the Parque del Alamillo, along with the Sevillian Samer Ali Saad (winner last year), the Malagan brothers Victoriano and Bruno Raso or Ruben Ruzafa, who was world champion of the Xterra, and that has gone to triathlon after many successes in the Mountain Bike.

This new edition of the classic Seville test will be played over three different distances with exits in waves: Olympic (1.500 meters of swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km of running on foot), Sprint (750 m, 20 km and 5 km), and Super Sprint (350 m, 10 km and 2,5 km).
