Eneko Call us all at the Ironman in Hawaii

Eneko appears in Kona with the endorsement of having achieved his best season in ironman

triathlete Eneko Llanos, valid Ironman 70.3 European Champion , prefers to be cautious despite starting as one of the favorites in the Ironman of Hawaii, the 'queen test' of the calendar that is considered the World Championship of the specialty and that will be held next Saturday in the Hawaiian town of Kona, in which he thinks "give everything".

The Ironman of Hawaii consists of a swim test of 3,8 kilometers at sea, 180 kilometers by bike crossing a lava desert and the 42 miles of a full marathon.

At his 36 years, the Gasteiz will appear in this 'World Cup' with the endorsement of his best season in the Ironman triathlon mode. It started with the second place in Abu Dhabi and then he achieved the triumph in Melbourne Ironman and of Frankfurt, which was the European Championship of the modality.

His best result in Kona to date is the second place of 2008, whereas in the last two editions he had to retire.

His early qualification for Hawaii for the good results during this season has allowed him to train a month in height, in Boulder (United States), under the command of his new coach, Dave Scott.

Speaking to the press service of his team, Basque Team, from Kona, Eneko indicated that he will spend the 10 days there before the test in order to acclimatise to extreme heat and humidity typical of the Hawaiian climate.

"I have been training for five weeks in Boulder, with no setbacks and with very good sensations, and now we are in Kona for the final set-up, with less volume and intensity in the training sessions. low of 30º, with humidity between 80 and 90%, "he explained.

Llanos said this is the first time he trains in height before Hawaii. "I had done it for other tests, apart from the benefit it brings, it has given me the opportunity for my trainer, who lives there, to follow my preparation day by day," he said.

About his favoritism, the Vitorian said he does not attend forecasts or pools. "I only think about giving everything and being satisfied with my performance on the day of the test.In Kona it does not count what you have done throughout the year, it can be an indicator, but anything can happen. favorites, and people who are not so and who will surely be in the top positions, "he analyzed.
