Raúl Amatriain and Dolça Ollé win the ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN Menorca

The appointment of Menorca puts the finishing touch to the circuit ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN 2013

 

This circuit has passed during the 2013 through Salou, Getxo and Narbonne, where as a novelty for the year 2014 ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN will land in Germany.

 

 

This Sunday, 22 of September the Menorcan town of Fornells welcomed more than 800 triathletes who, from 07:30 h. have competed in the ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN Menorca.

 

With 1.900 m of swimming, 85 km of cycling and 21 km of running, the event has experienced its most crowded edition with a large number of fans who, from early in the morning, has gathered at the key points of the routes to give support to the athletes.

 

From the first sector, the competition has been lived with intensity. The Catalan Xavier Llobet he was the first to complete the swim and reach the transition ready to face a bicycle circuit with three laps. During the cycling segment, it has been Joan Ruvireta who has managed to stay ahead, although he has not been able to take advantage of Llobet, who has taken the pulse until the second transition came hand in hand.

 

Behind, chasing the two escaped, the German Niclas Bock and the navarro Raúl Amatriain, who arrived with more than six minutes of disadvantage at the start of the race on foot. That's when the script broke. Despite the intense heat, Amatriain he proved his great level in career and he was climbing positions until comfortably leading the last section. Finally, he crossed the finish line in 04: 01: 30, followed by Niclas Bock (04: 03: 35) and Joan Ruvireta (04: 08: 11).

 

With this victory, Raúl Amatriain puts an end to his season. Already as a winner, the Navarrese stressed that "Menorca is special for me, I'm in love with this island. This year I have not gone well and finishing this way is the best, as well as motivation for next year".

 

The German Niclas Bock he was pleasantly pleased by "the fantastic atmosphere that is experienced in the test" On the other hand, I already thought of "come back next year and also join the EXTREME MAN test in Germany".

 

In the female category, Dolça Ollé He met all the forecasts and won the win in 04: 42: 19. After the victory he affirmed that "during the test I found myself very well, especially in swimming and cycling. I thought that in Menorca the cycling route was a little flatter, but I've already seen that it really is hard! Afterwards, in the running on foot the heat has affected me a little" In addition, it highlighted the beauty of the island as a stage. After Dolça Ollé arrived Veronica Aveni, as second classified, in a time of 04: 52: 07, e Ivet Farriols, as third, in 04: 56: 33.

 

The event closed with the awards ceremony of this last circuit test ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN, which was attended by Francisco Ametller, mayor of Mercadal, accompanied by several councilmen, as well as the Councilor of Tourism, Salomé Cabrera.
