Ends the search device of Víctor Teni

The Government of the Canary Islands reported yesterday Monday that the search device organized to find Víctor Teni, the athlete from Tenerife who disappeared since January 1 in Las Cañadas del Teide, has been concluded, according to the technical managers of the Servicio Marítimo Guardia Civil, Military Emergency Unit (UME) and the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies.

After 12 days since the last contact with the athlete, an unprecedented effort was made to find him, trusting that his physical resistance would have allowed him to survive the extreme weather conditions that have been registered in the National Park in recent days.

It should be noted that except for the 9 and 10 days in January, in which due to the weather conditions only the professionals searched, the average daily number of people was 150, increasing this last weekend, with the presence of the detachments military.

From now on, it will be the State Security Forces and Bodies that will continue the investigation work derived from the denunciation due to their disappearance.

The Government of the Canary Islands thanks the work of the media activated during these days and of all those volunteers who have collaborated in the device: Civil Guard, Emergency and Salvage Group, Military Emergency Unit, Army, Firefighters Tenerife, AEA, Cruz Red, Candelaria and La Laguna Civil Protection, Federación Tinerfeña de Montañismo, Teide National Park, Cable Car, Parador Nacional del Teide, Hunting Guards and Environment staff of the Cabildo de Tenerife.
