Gustav Iden Ends His 2023 Season

The triathlon world has witnessed the incredible track record of Gustav Iden in recent years.

He is a triathlete who has dominated the medium and long distance tests with victories in the world championships HOMBRE DE HIERRO in 2022 and IRONMAN 70.3 en 2019 y 2021.

However, the 2023 has been a bad year for the Norwegian, marked by both personal and professional adversities.

Iden has faced some tough times this season, from the sad loss of his mother even challenges in his sports career.

One of the most shocking news was Norway's official decision to exclude him from the 2024 Paris Olympics. To this was added a caída en el PTO Asian Open, which has undoubtedly affected his performance and morale.

Recently, Gustav Iden announced the end of his 2023 season on social media, a decision made after consulting with his doctor and coach due to an Achilles heel injury.

Through his words, you can feel the emotional weight he has carried this year, mentioning that he feels he has failed many and that 2023 just wasn't his year.

"Itt's sad to announce that my season has ended. I have had problems with my Achilles in the last few weeks. Together with my doctor and trainer, we decided to end the season here.

Honestly, I feel somewhat relieved. This year has been one test after another, and I feel like I have failed all of them.

No matter what I did, 2023 would never be a good year. Getting hurt was just the last failed test that ended this season once and for all.

Part of my spare time in Nice will be spent launching a short anime/movie made by @on called TriKings starring @kristianblu and me. It's a shame to go to Nice and not race, but I'll be back on the start line where I belong when the time is right." commented.
