IBERMAN confirms its two tests and presents its big bet for this year, the I IBERKID
In addition to the tests of Long and Medium Distance, a success in its first edition, celebrates the I Iberkid, for children
Despite not having the minimum number of participants, the CD IBERMAN, in close collaboration with the Portuguese Federation and the support of Ayamonte City Council and Villarreal Chamber, will make possible the two tests of this season, the MD of the 22 March in Ayamonte, and the LD the June 14.
In addition to presenting his big bet for this 2014, the first edition of the IBERKID, the 1st International meeting for future triathletes which will be held on 5 and 6 days in September at Villa Real de Santo Antonio (Portugal), in an idyllic place to practice this sport, at 1 hour in Huelva and 1 hour and a half in Seville, where the organization expects receive more than 1000 families.
Therefore, CD Iberman (ibermantriatlon.es) will once again hold its two tests (Medium and Long Distance) in this 2014, thus challenging all the difficulties involved in organizing sporting events of this magnitude and that last year were a success of participation and organization.
The first one will be the II Iberman Media Distancia, set for the next March 22. In view of the acceptance it had, the departure will be from a boat on the Guadiana River, so that the triathletes will swim towards the mouth to divert to the Marina of Ayamonte, whose City Council, like the Chamber from Vila Real de Santo Antonio and the rest of the locations where the event runs, he goes with it.
After leaving the water, the athletes will take their Bike to begin a route that will run through the border town towards the municipalities of Villablanca, San Silvestre de Guzmán, Sanlúcar de Guadiana, El Granado and Villanueva de los Castillejos, at which point they will turn around to begin the route in reverse, towards Ayamonte. After completing it, the triathletes will leave their bikes next to the park and begin the race on foot, which will take them to the beaches of Ayamonte and then return and reach the finish line.
The second big event of the year will be the II Iberman Long Distance (14 of June), an international test that in its first edition had more than 700 participants from all over the European continent. On this occasion, given that each year the place of departure and arrival will alternate for both countries to collaborate with the project, the starting point will be located on the beach of Montegordo, a Portuguese town where the test will begin with the sector of swimming. After it, the triathletes will take their bikes and start a tour that will run through the Portuguese towns of Vila Real de Santo Antonio, Castro Marim, Alcautim, Mértola, Pomarao.
The route will go into Spanish territory, being El Granado the first town to visit. After passing through this one they will go through Villanueva de los Castillejos, San Silvestre de Guzmán, Villablanca and Ayamonte, where the T2 will be located. Once there, the participants will face the sector of the race on foot, which will take them back to Portugal through the international bridge, one of the emblematic points of the event. From there they will go to Vila Real and Montegordo, completing the most 42 kms before becoming finishers of the II Iberman LD.
The third and final test will be the I Iberkid, the new great bet of CD Iberman. It will be an international meeting - Spain and Portugal will alternate every year when it comes to hosting it - for future triathletes to be held on 5 and 6 in September in Vila Real de Santo Antonio, where the organization expects to receive more than a thousand families. Only from Portugal will move more than 300 young people to participate in this first international meeting reserved for children born between 1998 and 2007, divided between the categories of Pre-Benjamins to Cadets, and that will take part in a duathlon, a aquathlon and a triathlon.
