Iñaki Balldellou and Els Visser win the Ibiza Half Triathlon 2022

The island of Ibiza received more than 300 participants in a new edition of the Ibiza Half Triathlon that has not disappointed.

The sporting spectacle, the phenomenal atmosphere and the weather were perfectly aligned to enjoy the sport of triathlon in a unique setting such as the island of Ibiza.

From 8 in the morning the candidates for victory in this international test were launched into the waters, scoring for the PTO circuit  and that it was also the final test of the Spanish Cup of Medium and Long Distance Triathlon.

After the 2000 meters of swimming starting and finishing at the Ses Fugueretes promenade and after going around the popular island of Las Ratas, the group led by Guillem Rojas led the men's event, Pablo DapenaNick Kastelein and Iñaki Balldellou

In females, the first to touch the sand was the local triathlete Susana Sevillano together with the Catalan Laura Gómez, followed closely by the German Els Visser while Anna Noguera they were in the chasing group just 2 minutes from time.

After the rapid transition came the 90-kilometre cycle in which Pablo Dapena and Nick Kastelein took the reins of the race, alternating the lead for practically the entire circuit. Behind, the Balledellou-Rojas duo was overtaken by the young Roger Manyà who climbed up positions, even occupying third place when he reached the second transition after Pablo Dapena and Nick Kastelein and ahead of Balldellou.

In the women's event, the dance of positions between Visser and Gómez has marked the cycling sector while the Catalan Anna Noguera tried to close the distance with the passage of kilometers.

Finally, Visser has put one more point and the first to leave the bicycle and therefore has started the race on foot with a certain advantage over Laura Gómez and Anna Noguera.

In this sector, Noguera set a strong pace that allowed her to overtake Laura Gómez and get second position behind the Dutchwoman, who finally made the forecasts good.

Visser won the test with a time of 4 hours, 30 minutes and 34 seconds. Noguera entered just under 3 minutes while Gomez He obtained the third place on the podium with a time of 4 hours, 35 minutes and 21 seconds.

In the men's team we once again experienced a change of leader in the last stages of the race. Iñaki Balldellou imposed the law on him in the half marathon beating his rivals until he reached the first position and winning the test with a final time of 3 hours, 58 minutes and 13 seconds.

The Galician accompanied him on the podium Pablo Dapena who entered the finish line just over a minute and a half from the winner while Albert Moreno closed the places of honor of the Ibiza Half Triathlon with a final time of 4 hours, 2 minutes and 36 seconds
