IRONMAN 70.3 Marbella will host the 2023 TriClubs European Championship 

On May 7, 2023, a new edition of the HOMBRE DE HIERRO® 70.3® Marbella with a very special novelty because it will be the venue for the European TriClubs Championship.

This is a unique occasion in which the best triathlon clubs on the continent will not only compete with each other, but will also take the opportunity to meet and share experiences.

A test that goes beyond the competition

This test thus becomes the culmination of the IRONMAN TriClub Program Competition, a series of tests that aim to support the triathlon club community through specific competitions for clubs and exclusive benefits for its members.

The championship, therefore, is also about a celebration, during which all the communities come together and in which, beyond the competition, the different clubs from all over Europe reach new joint goals.

In addition, throughout the weekend activities will be carried out in order to unite the different clubs and encourage interaction between all participants. For example, it will be flag parade, a ceremony in which the athletes of each club enter together with their flag as a presentation.

The best European clubs gathered on the Costa del Sol

The scores of the competition work by Age Groups (AGR), within which the five best athletes of each club are counted, finally determining the winning club.

Of the more than 3.000 European clubs, it is expected that at least 300 TriClubs will attend this event on the Costa del Sol.

Among them, it is worth highlighting the presence of the Terrible Tuesdays Triathlon, the Swedish club that won the last edition, held in the town of Jönköping, in the same country, where the 2021 and 2019 editions had also been held.

Marbella, ideal triathlon destination

On this occasion, however, The IRONMAN Group has decided to bet on Marbella, which after the success of the last edition has now become a strategic enclave of the European triathlon.

Its friendly and so characteristically Mediterranean atmosphere, the beach and the good temperatures have been some of the reasons that have led the organization of the championship to choose the Andalusian city.

In addition, it is a municipality that offers circuits for all levels in spectacular surroundings. Thus, the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, the mountainous landscapes of the interior, with towns such as Monda, Coín, Cártama and Ojén, the city's promenade and the arrival in Puerto Banús will be the great backdrop for the 1,9 km of swimming, the 90 km of cycling and the final half marathon (21 km) that will make up this test.

It is also essential to remember that the IRONMAN® 70.3® Marbella would not be possible without the institutional support of the Marbella City Council, the Malaga Provincial Council and the City Councils of all the municipalities through which the test takes place, which always do everything on their part so that the event a success year after year.
