IRONMAN Portugal-Cascais: a challenge in the pearl of the Atlantic 

Cascais, a coastal jewel of Portugal, is already preparing to welcome athletes from all over the world in a new edition of the IRONMAN Portugal. 

This event, scheduled for October 19, 2024, will have 2 Full and 70.3 distances and will be one of the most important competitions in Europe, where it continues to grow each year in participation and media impact. 

Circuits

The circuits of IRONMAN Portugal-Cascais They offer participants a unique combination of history and physical endurance.  

Swimming 

The test begins with an exciting 3.8 km single-lap swimming circuit in Cascais Bay.  

The athletes will start from Praia da Ribeira and finish in front of the Fortress at the Clube Naval.  

The water temperature in October varies between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius, offering ideal conditions for swimmers. 

Cycling 

The 180km cycling circuit consists of two laps and offers stunning views of the Portuguese Riviera, Guincho Beach and the wonderful Sintra-Cascais Natural Park.  

The athletes will pass through Lisbon reaching areas such as the Belém Tower and the Jerónimos Monastery, and even under the 25 de Abril Bridge.  

A highlight that makes this test unique is the lap that the triathletes will have to do on the Estoril Formula 1 Circuit. 

Career 

The three-lap race segment begins in Cascais, follows the Guincho road along the coast to Cabo Raso and returns to the heart of Cascais.  

 It is a tough course, especially on windy days, and where they will have incredible support from the spectators, especially in the Cascais Marina, where the spirit carries the athletes to the finish line.  

 Cascais: A Tourist and Sports Destination 

In addition to being an ideal place to compete, Cascais is a perfect destination for tourism.  

Visitors can explore the old town, enjoy Guincho Beach and visit the impressive Boca do Inferno, thus combining the passion for triathlon with the pleasure of tourism. 

Registrations 

Registration is now open for both distances and early registration is still valid right now.
