The IRONMAN Vitoria will have 18 female professional triathletes

The fourth edition of IRONMAN Vitoria-Gasteiz It will be held next Sunday, July 16 and will once again focus the attention of the national triathlon.

This year, the competition will have the participation of twenty professional triathletes in the female category, all of them with the aim of taking the final victory and getting a place for the VinFast IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.

Elite triathletes at the starting line

Among the elite triathletes who will compete in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the presence of the Basque Gurutze Frades, who already has his place for the World Cup in Kona after winning the IRONMAN in Cozumel last year.

Other notable triathletes who have confirmed their participation include the New Zealander Rebecca Clarke, the German Svenja Thoes, Dutch Els Visser, the Belgian Alexandra Tondeur, the Swedish Sara Svensk and the Biscayan Helene Alberdi.

Vitoria-Gasteiz: a charming city

Vitoria-Gasteiz, the city that hosts this prestigious event, is known for its beauty and its impressive landscapes.

Participants will have the opportunity to walk its streets and enjoy its rich culture and heritage. Among its tourist attractions are the Cathedral of Santa María, Casco Viejo and Parque de la Florida, without forgetting its exquisite gastronomy.

A challenging and attractive tour

The route of the IRONMAN Vitoria-Gasteiz is another of the attractions of this test. Starting at the Ullibarri-Gamboa lake, within the Landa Provincial Park, the triathletes will face a 3,8-kilometre swimming circuit in an environment of high ecological value.

The 180-kilometre bicycle segment runs through the beautiful landscapes of the Álava plain, while the marathon takes place through the busy streets of the center of Vitoria-Gasteiz.

Places for Nice and Kona

In this edition, a total of 100 places will be distributed in the men's Age Group category for the VinFast IRONMAN World Championship in Nice, France, and another 50 places for women for the VinFast IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.
