Ivan Raña second in the IRONMAN of South Africa. Eneko Llanos and Víctor del Corral TOP 10

The IRONMAN World Champion in 2013 Frederik Van Lierde has taken the victory.

 

 

Today on Sunday 29 of March, the IRONMAN of South Africa where a duel was expected between the 2013 World Champion Frederik Van Lierde, Bart Arneouts and the Spanish triarmada formed by Eneko Llanos, Iván Raña and Víctor del Corral.

The day did not disappoint, since from the beginning they were involved in the fight for victory. The German, taking advantage of his strength in the cycling sector, managed after completing the 180 km of route to start running with almost 21 minutes on Bart Arneouts. Eneko Llanos arrived at 15 minutes, Iván Raña at 15:37 p.m. and Víctor del Corral at 22 minutes.

Already in the race on foot, Iván Raña made a great comeback, getting the best time in the marathon by traveling the 42 km in 2: 48: 44. This was not enough since Frederick Van Lierde got the second best time (2: 51: 15) which helped him to reach a wide advantage to the finish line.

The Belgian Frederik Van Lierde got the victory with a final time of 08: 16: 34 followed in second position by the Spanish Ivan Raña  (08: 30: 44) and of Bart Aernouts (08: 35: 58) in third position.

A large Eneko Llanos I finish in fifth position (08: 37: 49) and Víctor del Corral (08: 47: 09) entered the TOP 10 with the ninth place.

In the female category the winner has been Jodie Swallowfollowed by  Lucy Gossage y Susie cheetman in third final position,
