Javi Gómez Noya will 'premiere' his Olympic silver at the XII Ferrol Triathlon

A total of 330 athletes will participate on Sunday 19 August in the XII Triathlon Cidade de Ferrol, third and last qualifying round for the 2012 Galician Championship. The main novelty will be the presence of the Olympic medalist Javier Gómez Noya, in an intense day of tests.

The elite race will be played in sprint mode, with 750 swimming meters in the beach of Caranza, then 20 km. of the cycling segment and will end with the walking race of 5 km. The female output is scheduled for the 11.00 hours, and among the participants stand out the locals Melina and Camila Alonso (Tríatlon Ferrol), Aída Valiño (Cidade de Lugo Fluvial) or Marta Barbeito (AD Fogar).

For the men's event there will be two departures: at 11.10 am, test B will begin, while at 12.30 pm it will be the men's elite start. The great favorite is Javier Gómez Noya, although with him will be important men of the Galician and national triathlon such as Brais Canosa (Arcade Inforhouse); Pablo Dapena (Galaico Cidade de Pontevedra); Diego Paz (Arcade Inforhouse) and Antonio Serrat (Cidade de Lugo Fluvial).
