Javi Gómez Noya will 'premiere' his Olympic silver at the XII Ferrol Triathlon

A total of 330 athletes will participate on Sunday August 19 in the XII Cidade de Ferrol Triathlon, the third and last qualifying event for the 2012 Galician Championship. The main novelty will be the presence of the Olympic medalist Javier Gómez Noya, in an intense day of tests.

The elite race will be held in the sprint modality, with 750 meters of swimming at Caranza beach, followed by 20 km. of the cycling segment and will end with the 5 km run. The women's start is scheduled for 11.00:XNUMX am, and among the participants stand out the locals Melina and Camila Alonso (Tríatlon Ferrol), Aída Valiño (Cidade de Lugo Fluvial) or Marta Barbeito (AD Fogar).

For the men's event there will be two starts: test B will begin at 11.10:12.30 a.m., while at XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. it will be the elite men's start. The great favorite is Javier Gómez Noya, although together with him there will be important men from the Galician and national triathlon such as Brais Canosa (Arcade Inforhouse); Pablo Dapena (Galaico City of Pontevedra); Diego Paz (Arcade Infohouse) and Antonio Serrat (Fluvial City of Lugo).
