Javier Gómez Noya in Hamburg: "I was able to train at the level necessary to face a triathlon that will be of the highest level"

This Saturday, in this northern city of Germany, one of the most emblematic events of the World Series takes place, given that the tour is urban and crowded with the public.

Hamburg was already part of the World Cup and also hosted the 2007 World Championship when it was a single test. Since 2012 is about Sprint distance (half of the Olympic) and in this edition is the sixth scoring for the circuit that grants the world title.

A scenario of fond memories for Javier Gómez Noya, since there won in 2006 the appointment of the World Cup (the second in his record, the first had been in Madrid shortly before) and in 2007 the world subtitle. Already with scoring for the World Series their results have been 6º in the 10, 2º in 11 and 12 and 3º in the 13.

This 6 appointment of the 2014 circuit arrives as a solid leader after having won 4 and having been 6º in London, the only one before Hamburg played in Sprint distance. Taking into account that for the general classification the 5 best results of the 7 first dates are taken into account, more necessarily that of the final, everything that is better than the 6º will suppose adding points: "I arrived very motivated after the victory in Chicago where I was able to compete without pain in my foot. The injury is forgotten and in Pontevedra I have been able to train at the necessary level to face a triathlon that will be of the highest level, with all the best present."

In the Sprint distance the range of favorites opens up with respect to the Olympic, but I hope to be very high and add the points that allow me to consolidate the leadership ”. If he won, he would have achieved the maximum number of points prior to the final and would allow him to skip the next appointment in Stockholm, just a week before that final, Canada. And anyway in the worst case, that he did not add points and that the 2nd in the provisional Mario Mola achieved the 800 of victory, would not lose the leadership.

The men's race starts at 6:15 in the afternoon and can be followed live on the international federation channel triathlonlive.tv. The 750m swim is one lap; the 20km of cycling at 6 laps and the 5km on foot at 2.
