Javier Gómez Noya wins the Beijing Triathlon

Just 6 days after proclaiming himself World Champion in London, Javier Gómez Noya has won in Beijing the prestigious triathlon that bears the name of the Chinese capital.

In front of some rivals among those who were both specialists in the format without a squad and other regulars of the World Series, the Galician has sentenced in the phase on foot after finishing cycling in 2 position, surpassed by the Australian veterans - and great friend of Javi- Greg Bennett.

Gómez Noya had left the water after the 1500m the first and maintained the leadership during 30 of the 40km of cycling, in whose half there was a climb with some 300m of unevenness. Bennet overtook and exceeded him, but without taking much advantage from there.

In the 10km on foot -revealed and with several hills and flights of stairs to be for a park- soon became leader and although it was not necessary marked the best partial, ahead of Bennet in more than a minute and a half and the third, the American Fleischmann, in almost four: "I felt very well despite the little time that has passed since London and the trip. I already had to get out of the water in the lead and being only reached by Bennet during cycling I had easy the third phase. What a great difference there is between competing without pressure to do it like in London playing the season on a card. I have enjoyed a lot in the third phase, leading the way through such a beautiful and varied route. I am very grateful to the organization for how we have treated foreign triathletes and I hope to continue participating in future editions".

The World Champion will arrive at the Vigo airport on Sunday night after the long journey. A week of interviews and receptions awaits you, but without neglecting the training you will return to compete the next Sunday in Nice en the final of the French Grand Prix.

In that country it competes with the club Sartrouville in which there are also other triathletes of the highest international level such as the brothers Brownlee and Spanish Mola (6º today in Beijing) and Alarza.
