A group of 4 formed on the first slope of the cycling circuit with Jonathan Brownlee, Ben Kanute, Richard Varga and Aaron Royle, followed 10 seconds behind by a third with Javier Gómez Noya struggling to catch up with the heads. Vicente Hernández finished in the tenth position and Mario Mola that suffered a downturn in the final part I finish in the 14ª plaza. Y Fernando Alarza ended in the 31ª final position that had mechanical problems on the bike.
