The Triathlon World Series arrive in Madrid without Alistair Brownlee, Joao Silva, Ivan Raña and Marina Damlaicourt

La Country House of Madrid returns this weekend a test of the World Series of Triathlon, the fourth of the edition of 2013, which will not be present some of the big names of the world panorama.

To the absences of the British Alistair Brownlee, current Olympic champion, or Portuguese Joao Silva, provisional leader of the competition thanks to his three third places in Auckland, San Diego and Yokohama, adds the Ivan Raña, injured and at a time where these distances alternate with longer ones.

Brownlee, winner of the second appointment in San Diego, has had to resign by an ankle injury and the Portuguese triathlete also has problems in one of his feet. "I would not be competitive in Madrid, I can swim well and go fast by bike, but in the race on foot I would not surrender", Silva explained in his country's media.

For the Madrilenian Marisol Married, president of the ITU (International Triathlon Union), the Madrid event is "a fundamental piece" in the world circuit.

"The organization of the Madrid competition has been evolving but the most interesting is the very high level of participation that always has ", declares Married." This year will not be less. The keys to this great participation have been that Madrid is the first test of the World Series in Europe throughout the year, when the circuit is very attractive for the triathletes and in which from its beginnings it has only rained one year, only one year has made bad weather, and that also counts ".
