Laura Gómez and Fernando Zorrilla Spanish Champions of MD Duathlon 2024

The 2024 edition of the Spanish Middle Distance Duathlon Championship held in Híjar, Teruel, left as winners Laura Gomez y Fernando Zorrilla, who revalidated their titles in a competition marked by difficult weather conditions, with wind and cold that played a decisive role, especially in the cycling segment.

The competition began with a 9,3 km running segment, where from the beginning, athletes from the Alusigma team, together with Fernando Zorilla, they took the lead.

James Teagle, Gonzalo Fuentes, Diego Mentrida, Fabian Villanueva y Kristian Quintans They set the pace in this first stage.

However, it was in cycling, with a 61 km route affected by strong wind, where Zorrilla managed to distance himself to reach the second transition first, maintaining his advantage until the end, crossing the finish line in 2:39:10.

James Teagle finished second, with Pello Osoro completing the podium.

In the female category, Laura Gomez He dominated from the first segment, maintaining his lead in the decisive cycling section and concluding his victory in the foot race, thus revalidating his title with an impressive demonstration of strength.
