The Brownlee brothers again choose La Nucía for their preparation

The English triathletes are two of the world stars of triathlon and olympic sport and the greatest rivals of the Spanish triathlete Javier Gómez Noya

The Olympic and world triathlon champions, Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee, are doing their pre-season training in the Ciutat Esportiva Camilo Cano of La Nucía for the second consecutive year.

Alistair Brownlee (25 years old) and Jonathan Brownlee (23 years old) have chosen the Municipal Heated Swimming Pool of La Nucía for its excellent and modern facilities to train for two weeks, from January 9 to 22, 2014. In addition to training swimming in the Swimming Pool of La Nucía carry out series of athletics along the network of trails of the Captivador de La Nucía that connects the Ciutat Esportiva with the hermitage of Captivador. They also have scheduled bicycle outings on the roads of the Marina Baixa region, to train in this way the three triathlon disciplines: swimming, running and cycling.

The excellent climate of the area has made the triathletes choose La Nucía for this pre-season stage for the second time, as they did in 2013. It is the fourth time that they are concentrated in La Nucía and the second pre-season they have in the nucieras facilities. During the trainings they were accompanied by their coaches Malcolm Brown and Jack Maitlan.

After this stage the first test where Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee will compete will be in Abu Dhabi the March 14. They will debut at 2014 in the UAE Triathlon race, but will do so in the short version: 1,5 kilometers of swimming, 100 km of cycling and 10 km of running.

Four times World Champion Alistair and one Jonathan

Alistair Brownlee has been four times world champion: one as junior in 2006, others in sub 23 and absolute in 2009 and 2011. He was gold medal in the London Olympics 2012. Jonathan Brownlee was Triathlon world champion (2012), was bronze medalist at the London Olympics 2012, shared podium with his brother, and has been world champion several times in Sprint Triathlon.

The Brownlee brothers are the main rivals of the Spanish Javier Gómez Noya, with whom almost all the international triathlon championships are disputed. Among the three triathletes the world championships of the last seven years have been distributed (2008 J. Gómez Noya, 2009 A. Brownlee, 2010 J. Gómez Noya, 2011 A. Brownlee, 2012 J. Brownlee and 2013 J. Gómez Noya). The Spaniard won the last triathlon world in 2013 after winning the last round of the World Series in London, at the home of the Brownlee brothers, against all odds.
