Organizers decide to hold the Tokyo Olympics without spectators due to the advance of the coronavirus

According to the country, the Japanese government will extend this Thursday the state of emergency in the capital of the country due to the increase in infections

Just two weeks before the Tokyo Olympics start, the organizers have decided prohibit the presence of the public in the event, as requested by the authorities.

The decision has been announced by the Minister for the Games Tamayo Marukawa, after Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga declared a new state of emergency for Tokyo, the fourth since the health crisis began.

La delta variant The virus has been causing an upturn in infections since the end of June in Tokyo, where 2/3 of the infections in the entire country are already of this variant.
