Javier Gómez Noya decides not to go to the European Triathlon Championship

Javier Gómez Noya has decided not to dispute on Saturday 15 the European Olympic Distance Championship, title that has won 3 times (2007,09 and 12) to be held in Alanya, Turkey.

 

 

"I've been competing for many weeks in a row and after the World Series in Madrid I've been a few days of recovery with very smooth sessions. The world title is the great goal and I want to make the most of Kitzbuhel's career of the 6 of July. If I went to Europe, in a hot place and with a trip of almost a week, I would not have been able to charge the batteries for a very intense period since the second week of June".

 

The Austrian round of the World Series will be very special for its distances and terrain: 750m of swimming, 11km of bike with 7 of ascent with more of the 10% of unevenness and 2'5 on foot pro paths also in ascent, finishing to 1700m height:

 

"It's going to be spectacular, full from the start, without tactics and with individual effort; you will see the cycling level of each one. I want to get to the top and we are thinking of doing a concentration in height to train bike uphill and run on roads in altitude. "

 

Before that Javier is going to close a cycle of six consecutive weeks competing with an appointment of the French League of Clubs in Sables d'Olonne, on Sprint distance. It will be his first competition in 2013 with his French team, Sartrouville, with which the last years he has achieved the national title and in which the Brownlee brothers also play.

 

The week after Madrid has been especially emotional for Javi since his paternal grandmother died on Thursday - one day after completing 101 years - and on Friday he received the title of Son in Ferrol, the hometown of his parents and where he grew up. Favorite of the hands of the mayor Jose Manuel Rey. In a crowded theater Jofre with the presence of local authorities and many of those who have accompanied and supported his successful career.
