New scoring system of the World Series

This year the 5 points will add better results, not like so far with four

The ITU (International Triathlon Federation) has announced a change in the ITU ranking system, in addition to the new classification system for the Mixed Relay Cameonato.

For this year, the 5 points will add better results, not like until now, only four points, along with the Grand Final of the World Series. The scoring system remains the same as last year with 800 points for a World Series event and 1200 for the grand final.

This change has been made possible after extensive debate between the various parties involved in the world of triathlon, athletes, coaches, local organizing committees and national federations, with the common goal of further encouraging participation of the athletes in WTS events.

The starting gun will give it Cape (South Africa) the next 5-6 for April. It is the first time that the WTS will be present in the 5 continents. Yokohama, London, Chicago, HamburgStockholm and the Grand Final in Edmonton (Canada) will be the venues for the 2014 World Series.

Following the success of the past 2013 World Championships in the Mixed Relay category, the 2014 will once again celebrate the 13 in July in Hamburg. The host country (Germany) is automatically qualified for the event, as are the 11 best teams of the 2013 World Championships, excluding the host nation.
