Antonio Benito drops out for IRONMAN 70.3 Valencia

The Spanish triathlete Antonio Benito will not be on the starting line of the  IRONMAN 70.3 Valencia which is celebrated this Sunday, April 21 due to some knee discomfort.

Benito had already been forced to withdraw from the Zuia Duathlon the previous weekend for the same knee problem.

This decline represents a pause for the aspirations of Benedict, whose main objective was to obtain a place for the IRONMAN World Championship by Kona which is celebrated in October.

The triathlete from La Mancha had planned to compete in the Texas IRONMAN to try to get one of the six PRO places available for the World Cup event.

Antonio commented on his social networks “A little 💩 this beginning of the season, as much as it hasn't quite started.

The knee discomfort did not disappear, so this weekend I will not be able to be at 70.3 in Valencia. Let's recover and continue, the season is very long... 😁”
