The Lanzarote Cycling Tour presented 

The Higher Sports Council witnessed the presentation of the first edition of the Cycling tour of Lanzarote. 

This competition, scheduled for the days September 28 and 29, 2024, It is not just another race on the calendar of the International Cycling Union (UCI); It is a celebration of sport, nature and culture of one of the most beautiful islands in the Canary archipelago. 

A Dream Tour  

The Vuelta Ciclista a Lanzarote will challenge participants with 180 kilometers divided into two stages.  

  • The first stage, with 115 kilometers and 1.700 meters of positive gradient, promises to be a real challenge for cyclists.  
  • The second stage, although shorter, with 75 kilometers and 1.000 meters of elevation gain, will be no less demanding. 

A Cycling Adventure like no other  

The Cycling Tour of Lanzarote, organized by Club La Santa With the support of the Island Council and the backing of the Canarian and Spanish Cycling Federations, it is more than a competition: it is a cycling adventure like no other. 

This long-distance non-competitive cycling event travels through all the island's municipalities, attracting fans and competitors alike. 

Participants are free to complete the tour of the island at their own pace in two stages, totaling 180 kilometers. 

At the presentation of the first edition of the Vuelta Ciclista a Lanzarote, Fabio Cabrera, Racing Director of Club La Santa, shared his thoughts about the event.

Cabrera highlighted the “legacy” that the Vuelta Ciclista a Lanzarote wants to leave on an island where “you always see cyclists.” He highlighted that the test is designed for everyone, with a route that is both beautiful and affordable.

This statement reflects the organization's commitment to making the Vuelta Ciclista a Lanzarote an inclusive and accessible event, attracting a wide range of participants and spectators, thus promoting cycling and active tourism on the island.

Refreshment Points and Fan Zones

With refreshment points that transform into vibrant “fan zones”, a festive atmosphere awaits spectators and athletes.

These areas not only offer the necessary support for cyclists, but also become meeting points for fans, creating a unique atmosphere of celebration and support. 

 Ambassadors of Exception 

 The race has the support of four luxury ambassadors: Alberto counter, Sandra Alonso, Fran Windy y Luis Pasamontes.  

These cycling figures have expressed their enthusiasm for the event, highlighting Club La Santa's experience in organizing sporting events and the unique beauty of Lanzarote as the perfect setting for a competition of this magnitude. 

Categories and Team Participation  

The Vuelta Ciclista a Lanzarote is open to athletes from the Junior to Master 60 categories.  

Additionally, participants can join together and compete as a team, with a minimum of four riders, whether male, female or mixed. 

The team score will be calculated using each member's times in each race.
