Híjar prepared for the Spanish Middle Distance Duathlon Championship 2024

This Sunday, February 11, 2024, the Teruel town of Híjar hosts, for the second consecutive year, the Spanish Half Distance Duathlon Championship.

This event, which marks the start of the official season of the Spanish Triathlon Federation in 2024, will bring together almost 300 participants from all over the country, in the Women's and Men's Elite, Paratriathlon, Age Group and Open categories.

The test has a 9,3-kilometer run on foot around Híjar, followed by 61 kilometers of non-drafting cycling along the national N232, and ending with another 9,3 kilometers of run on foot.

The competition will begin at 9:30 a.m., and the first participant is expected to arrive at the finish line around 12:30 p.m.

The current champions of Spain, Laura Gomez y Fernando Zorrilla, they will defend their titles and start as favorites.

In addition, Pello Osoro, Fernando Zorrilla, Diego Méntrida, among others, and Sofia Aguayo, among others, will fight for victory. Anna Noguera or Sonia Bejarano among others.

The hardness and unevenness of the circuits, especially in the cycling and running segments, ensure a maximum challenge and a competition full of alternatives.
