Ruzafa leads the Triarmada in the European Cros Triathlon

The Spanish Cros Triathlon team made its presentation before the test in the Multisport Triathlon European Championship which is being held in Bilbao Bizkaia.

The Triarmada, which heads the medal table of this European, is one of the great favorites to win new medals in this discipline that consists of 1.000 meters of swimming, 22 kilometers of MTB cycling and 7.6 kilometers of running (half the distances for the Junior and Paratriathlon categories).

The team leads it by veteran and by record, Rubén Ruzafa, who, in addition to being multiple world and European champions, is one of the favorites to win gold.

The man from Malaga, who finished fifth in the last World Cup, but who arrives in Bilbao with the highest aspirations, stated that “he arrived in the best form of the year, due to how he approached the season for me at the end of September, he came in very well.

The circuits are very hard, with a lot of inclination, the bike works well for me, but it is not very technical and that weighs me down a bit compared to my rivals. The foot race has a lot of stairs and it's going to be tough, but in general I'm happy with the circuits”.

The rest of the components that will represent us in the elite event will be bear hair,  Kevin Tarek Vinuela, Marta Bourbon y Saleta Castro.

In sub 23 category they will represent us Marina Muñoz that heads the Triarmada that is formed by Ander Michelena, Alfonso Izquierdo, Joan Wager y Andrea Wheat.

Fernando Carmona, IRené Moor, Maria Barcelo y claudia marco make up the junior team.

Ricardo Marin (PTS2), Kini Carrasco (PTS3), Mark Rodriguez y Jose Antonio April (PTS4) make up the Paratriarmada team.

Hard and tricky circuit

Bermeo and the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve make this European Cros Triathlon unique.

The waters of the fishing port up to Parque Lamera will make up the swimming segment, while the Demiku, Bazaran and Artike neighbourhoods, as well as the tracks around Katillotxu and Trikuharria and the most picturesque part of Bermeo will make up the bike and foot race

The hardness of the circuit is proven by the fact that it is very fast, with long, steep and hard climbs while the descents, without rest and without excessive technical areas, will allow athletes to 'fly'.

The paved section that serves as a link to the circuit could mark the key.

Schedule

The test is held this Thursday, September 22, from 14:00 p.m.

There are no previous results.
