Saleta Castro second in the Patagonman 

El Patagonia Extreme Triathlon, known to be one of the toughest long-distance triathlons on the planet, was recently held in the stunning lands of Chile, attracting elite competitors from around the world. 

 Among them, the brilliant performance of Saleta Castro, who took second place  

El Patagonman It began with a 3,8 km swim in the icy waters of the Aysen Fjord, where triathletes, equipped with wetsuits and thermal caps, face temperatures below 12 degrees. 

This is followed by a demanding 177 km cycling sector, marked by a cumulative gradient of more than 2.500 meters and changing weather conditions that test the mental and physical strength of the participants.  

The race concludes with a marathon on undulating and often unpaved roads, a real challenge for the already exhausted athletes. 

Saleta Castro, returned to this competition after having achieved third place last year. 

He completed the swim in 28:32, the bike in 6:08:40 and the run in 4:00:45, achieving a total time of 10:49:03.  

Which earned her second place in the women's category, behind the British triathlete Laura Siddall, and also fifth in the general classification. 

In the words of Saleta Castro, shared on their rsocial edes"I just wanted this, to ring the bell again because as I said last year there is much more behind this gesture than can be explained in a post.  

Second girl and fifth overall but there are plenty of places in this race and this time it was a race to share with all the people who have been with me these days, supporting me and giving me all their love.
