Sam Long wins his third IRONMAN 70.3 in a month

Sam long He has achieved a great winning streak, managing to climb to the top of the podium in three IRONMAN 70.3 in 1 month and 4 days.

The 27-year-old North American has proven once again to be one of the best triathletes of the moment, where recently decided to self train the same with a great result.

Sam Long's decision to train himself

In early 2023, Long began training under British coach Daniel Plews, but the results were not as expected.

Despite the good results, such as a fourth place in the Clash Miami and a seventh in the IRONMAN 70.3 of Oceanside, Long decided to leave his coach and take charge of his own training.

"CI think your planning was excellent, it would have worked for many people, but not for me. I'm an outlier and I just need different things in my training."Long commented at the time.

Recent victories of Sam Long in IRONMAN 70.3

Long's decision to train on his own appears to have been a wise move.

In May, he was victorious in the IRONMAN 70.3 of St. George (Utah, USA). A week later, she repeated the feat at the IRONMAN 70.3 Gulf Coast (Florida, USA), beating triathletes like Lionel Sanders or Jackson Laundry.

And now this past weekend he took another victory in the IRONMAN 70.3 of Boulder (Colorado, USA).

Despite emerging 18th out of the water in Boulder, Long showed his quality in both the bike and run segments.

He came back to lead the race in the mid-cycle and finished off with a great half-marathon run in 1:11:50. His final time was 3:33:22.

Long, was intractable and got an advantage of almost 5 minutes over Lionel Sanders y Chris Leifermann.

With his recent wins and successful self-training, Sam Long has proven to be an athlete to watch this season.
