Sam Long will focus on the PTO Tour and middle distance in 2024  

Sam long, one of the best middle distance triathletes, has recently announced its calendar for the 2024 season, opting for the PTO Tour and the 100 km distance. 

Long, who closed 2023 in ninth place in the PTO world rankings, has expressed his intention to get back on the podium on the world stage.  

This ambition is reflected in his choice of competitions for next year, where the PTO Tours It will be your main choice. 

However, his success in IRONMAN events, including the 70.3 distance, suggests that his participation in the IRONMAN Pro Series remains an attractive possibility.

In a recent video posted on his YouTube channel, Sam long performs an introspective evaluation of its 2023 year, addressing two crucial aspects: its focus on the process and its performance in competitions.  

Long rates his process-oriented approach a remarkable 94% (A-), highlighting his commitment to continuous improvement throughout the year.  

Additionally, he highlights three key competitions – the North American, Gulf Coast and Boulder Championships – as the high points of his season. 

In terms of performance, Long is assigned 85%, reflecting his ambition to achieve podium positions in larger events globally.  

Looking ahead, he reveals plans to focus on the PTO series, as well as the 70.3 and 100K distances, placing emphasis on his development in these categories.  

In addition, he highlights the growth in his mental strength throughout the year, a factor that he considers essential for his success in the triathlon in 2023. 

The season begins this weekend in Chile  

The athlete, originally from Boulder, will begin his season this weekend at the IRONMAN 70.3 Pucón, in Chile, an event that attracts triathletes from all over the world for its challenging course and impressive natural environment.

In his preparation for 2024, Long focuses on improving his performance in the middle distance, with the aim of positioning himself as one of the favorites in the competitions in which he participates.
