A triathlete is attacked by an alligator in a Florida lake

A 34-year-old triathlete has released the heartbreaking story after being attacked by a 3 meter alligator while I was swimming.

Juan Carlos La Verde, a former US Air Force paratrooper, was swimming in Lake Thonotosassa when the alligator headed straight for him and bit down on his head and chest before letting go.

After the attack, he had to undergo six hours of emergency surgery to repair damage to the skull and remove part of the skull from the brain

"Si felt the equivalent of a telephone pole hitting my face and then because of my stroke i felt the scales then i felt the teeth so i knew what i was in for“, commented the triathlete, who suffered a skull and jaw fracture.
