PRO triathletes in ironman female category of Lanzarote

Next May 19 the IRONMAN of Lanzarote will be held.

IronMan Lanzarote, which is presented as a real challenge of physical and mental strength, will also bring together great stars of triathlon in the female category, among which we will have Saleta Castro, Spanish Long Distance Triathlon Champion 2011.

Bella Bayliss (34) - bib # 2 - from Great Britain, has just returned to the sport after the birth of her first child last summer, and will be competing alongside her husband Stephen. Bella has won the Lanzarote Ironman on two occasions and hopes to return little by little to recover the physical form that allows her to reach the highest rung.

Heleen Bij de Vaate (37 years old) - number 4 - Dutch. This is his fourth participation in the Ironman Lanzarote. He has already achieved a second and third place, and this could be the year of victory. He loves Lanzarote and has been to the island 12 times, the last a few weeks ago, for a training campus in the face of the big challenge. She is accompanied by a large group of family and friends to cheer her on throughout the day.

Nicole Woysch (35years) - number 9. This German woman has started the Iroman in Lanzarote 5 times, placing herself in the top ten twice, and once in third place (2010). Her dream is to win this Ironman, and she also thinks this could be her year.
He comments that this pre-season has been perfect, in terms of training sessions and the absence of injuries. Her physio Jan is also her husband.

Katya Meyers (32 years old) - number # 12 - lives and trains in San Diego and loves long runs. In triathlon, his specialty is the Ironman distance, and he finished in the top 10 in Wisconsin, France and the Philippines last year. In 2008, she got a place in Hawaii where she finished 28th.

Dr. Zsuzsanna HarsányiKnown as Moki, - number 15 - he is 36 years old and from Budapest, Hungary. He has been a triathlete since 1992 and an elite since 1997, so he has a great accumulated experience. He did his first Ironman in 2001 and won it. He has a number of podium positions to his credit. The Timanfaya Mountains in Lanzarote are his favorite place in the world.

Ute Streiter (38 years old) - bib number 20 - is from Innsruck, Austria, is married with 2 children. Armin, her husband, is also a professional triathlete and a coach at the same time.

Several times in the top ten, a 5th place in the Ironman Malaysia stands out. He likes the Lanzarote test, because he considers it to be one of the toughest, where the spirit of triathlon is truly lived.

Michelle Vesterby (28 years old) - number 21 - is from Denmark and is sponsored by Club La Santa. Running in Lanzarote is like running at home for her, and she is very eager to have this first experience. It has every chance of being among the first, proof of this the ninth place achieved in Melbourne a few weeks ago and the 5th place in Arizona last year with a time of 9:11:23

Tine Holst (32 years old) - number 24 - is also Danish but lives in Switzerland. He has participated in 8 Ironman races since its inception a little more than four years ago, but this year, it is the first, and also in Lanzarote he will debut as a professional triathlete.

Christine Hemphill (42 years old) - number 25 - she is Australian, although she currently trains and lives in France. Of the ten races in which he participated in 2011, he finished with 4 podiums, and a 9th place at Ironman Nice.
Christine is also a coach and mother of two children. He started competing at the age that most people retire! He started in order to raise money for charity he qualified for the World Championship! He finished third in Perth in 2009 and decided to go pro and see where he could go.
Sums it up pretty well: “Currently I enjoy training and racing in Europe. Triathlon is a lifestyle, not just a sport. In addition to the three sports disciplines that must be mastered, it produces growth in the body, mind and spirit, in many ways, all of which are positive.”

Saleta Castro (24 years old) - number 27 - this young Spanish woman has been practicing triathlon since she was 13 years old. Over the last ten years he has focused on the Olympic distance and has represented Spain on numerous occasions.

My participation in the Lanzarote Ironman is due to my illusion to fulfill a dream, since I started in this sport I always dreamed of being one more finisher, getting better and seeing how far I can go (it will be my first Ironman). The ironman of Lanzarote is considered the toughest in the world, hence one has more desire to be on the starting line, to all this I add and I have to say that this Island is magical, it has something that makes it special.

Carla Van rooijen (38 years old) - number 29- will start this Ironman for the second time. He has been in triathlon for ten years, did his first Ironman in 2004 and won a place for Hawaii in 2010, so he hopes to repeat, after having focused on Ironman 70.3 events during 2011.

She scheduled her workouts very well, so she hopes to be among the best on May 19 and surprise everyone!

Vieyra Melina de Monserratt (36 years old) - bib number 34- is from Peru and has been competing in triathlon since 2006. Last year he crossed the Strait of Gibraltar swimming
