El Toroloco Sierra Nevada Triathlon, considered by its organizers as "one of the toughest in the world", will beat next weekend its participation record with almost half a thousand registered, of which twenty will face the so-called 'Desafío Toro Loco' to dispute the two scheduled races.

On Saturday, a total of 130 triathletes will face the long test, which consists of two kilometers swimming in the Channel Swamp, 80 kilometers of bicycle crossing the ports of El Purche and El Duque, both of special category, and 21 kilometers of race above the 2.000 meters and almost reaching the 3.000.

"Due to difficulty, demand and height, this test is already a reference for triathletes from all over the world", said the CEO of Cetursa Sierra Nevada, María José López, during the presentation of the triathlon, "one of the toughest in the world "and that has distances of half 'Ironman'.

A score of triathletes, most of them from Granada, have decided to accept the 'Desafío Toro Loco' to dispute both tests, which will allow the Andalusian station and the towns through which the races run over the next weekend in the seventies percent of hotel occupancy.

The organizer of the Sierra Nevada Triathlon, Iván Martínez, highlighted the "constant growth" of a test that has "thirty percent" more enrolled than last year and that reaches "international character", since athletes from all over Spain and countries such as Australia, England, Colombia will participate , Belgium or France.

Martinez explained that what marks the distances in this demanding test it is "knowing how to regulate" the effort, in addition to cycling, "because two very hard ports are going up", and it has confirmed the presence of the two winners of last year, Alberto Casillas y Erin Dunn, to try to revalidate his triumph.
