Albert Moreno wins the last ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN Menorca achieving the record of the test

After passing through Salou, Düren (Germany), Riaza and Narbonne (France), the Isostar Extreme Man circuit finished the season in Menorca today with an event that brought together nearly 600 athletes.

This Sunday, 21 in September, the Menorcan town of Fornells has hosted the fifth edition of Isostar Extreme Man which, on this occasion, has combined the medium distance triathlon (1.900 meters of swimming / 84 km of cycling / 21 km of running on foot), with the short (1.000 meters / 38 km / 8 km).

From the first hour of the morning, countless fans have gathered in the Bay of Fornells to enjoy, live, the spectacle of the sport of transitions. In short distance, the great protagonist has been the Catalan Xavier Llobet who, showing his strength in the swimming segment, has reached the transition in the first place and has led both cycling and running, to reach the finish line in a final time of 1: 41: 22.

Behind, Nacho Alles, in 1: 44: 44, and Biei Forteza, in 1: 49: 37. In the female category, the highest step of the podium has been for Julia Rita (2: 09: 17). Second, Sara Jarillo (2: 14: 03) and third, Judit Zaragoza (2: 18: 13).

Albert Moreno breaks the record of the test

In the middle distance, the forecasts announced a victory Albert Moreno, which for the first time was presented on the starting line of Isostar Extreme Man Menorca after having achieved a second place in Salou, Getxo and Narbonne last season. The 24-year-old triathlete from Igualada arrived on the island after obtaining 15th place in the 70.3 World Championship held in Canada and as one of the great promises of the middle distance.

His intention was clear: fight from the first moment to try to achieve victory.

That's how it went. Albert Moreno dominated the race from start to finish, was the fastest in the speed points (stages in cycling and running) and crossed the finish line stopping the 3 chrono: 50: 52. Before the applause of the public that was congregated in the meta line, Moreno knew that not only had achieved the triumph, but had beaten the record of the event, so far in possession of Clemente Alonso.

More than 15 minutes later came Miquel Ensenyat (4: 06: 41) and Jordi Matos (4: 07: 20). In the women's category, Carolina Sitges made a triplet achieving victory and accumulating the best partials in the speed point of running and cycling. With a time of 4: 54: 34, Sitges was accompanied on the podium by Queralt Riba (4: 58: 02) and Nuria Sbert (4: 59: 43).

End of season

One more year, Isostar Extreme Man puts the finishing touch to the circuit's medium distance calendar and does so on the island of Menorca. In an event that is distinguished by the beauty of the environment, the safety of a cycling circuit closed to traffic and the good atmosphere, this triathlon has once again had the support of Isostar, which has ensured at all times the nutritional needs of the triathletes, in their clear commitment to endurance competitions.
