More than 100.000 people participate in the XXXV Fiesta de la Bici de Madrid

Madrid has celebrated the 35 birthday of one of its best-known events: the Fiesta de la Bici.

More than 100.000 people gathered on Sunday at 9 in the morning on Menéndez Pelayo street (next to the Retiro), to enjoy a great morning of cycling in a great sports environment.

This year, the party had a new travel, due mainly to the coincidence in dates with the transhumance by the royal glen. The locals have been able to travel 20 kilometers of streets of the center of the capital cut to the traffic for the exclusive use of bicycles: Gran Vía, Princesa, Bravo Murillo, Castellana ... A luxury circuit for which the whole family walks together.

Throughout the tour, participants could also enjoy activities such as concerts, batukadas, pipers or a refreshment in the parking lot of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. Through the streets of Madrid, bicycles of all kinds have been seen: from the 2 to the 5 plazas; from the unicycle to the most modern or the most original.

Tras 35 years of history, the Fiesta de la Bici has shown that it is more alive than ever and that the people of Madrid do not want to miss this opportunity to practice their favorite sport. One more year, the festive, healthy, sporting and family atmosphere have shaken hands in an unparalleled day.
