Buitrago de Lozoya will host the ŠKODA Gran Fondo Buitrago MTB by Trek, an 84 km test with 2.300 m of positive elevation gain

 

 

This Tuesday, March 3, has started a new adventure. It's about the ŠKODA Gran Fondo Buitrago MTB by Trek, a cycling mountain bike tour that has been presented at the Trek Bicycle Store in the Sierra Norte de Madrid.

Scheduled for the September 12, the event is presented in two distances to accommodate a wide range of Cycling lovers With a distance of 84 km, the Great Fund accumulates 2.300 m of positive slope. In front of this distance, the Medium Background consists of 44 km with 1.470 m of positive slope.

Organized by Win Sports Factory and Laetus, this cyclist tour consolidates the commitment to cycling and events in which "every detail is taken care of to offer the participant a high level sporting experience", commented Mauro Llorens, technical director of the proof.

 

 

A paradise for MTB

Less than an hour from Madrid, the town of Buitrago de Lozoya It will be the benchmark for the ŠKODA Gran Fondo Buitrago MTB by Trek. From there, the riders will face a journey through the Sierra Norte, with natural landscapes of great beauty and endless points of historical and tourist interest. Summits such as La Chorrera de San Mamés (1556 m), La Linera (1825 m), Peña Quemada (1805 m) or La Acebeda, known as the Pico de las Tres Provincias (1600 m), are some of the challenges to overcome in this cycling tour.

A jersey, the same team

Mauro Llorens, director of the event, presented the details of the ŠKODA Gran Fondo Buitrago MTB by Trek. Among them, the official jersey, "seal of distinction of the Win Sports Grand Fund that will be exclusive for registered and mandatory use".

After proposing three designs, the final jersey will be chosen by voting through social networks and the votes of the specialized press. The winning model will be announced on the March 10.

 

 

A premiere endorsed by the best brands

ŠKODA is closer than ever to its links with cycling in Spain, creating this mountain cycling event with the aim of consolidating it as an authentic calendar reference.

Joan Massallé, Sponsoring Manager of ŠKODA, shared with the attendees how, "after the good experience with Win in the Triathlon Series and La Mussara Grand Fund, we came up with the idea of ​​embarking on a test comparable to Gran Fondo, but in Mountain bike". In this sense, the challenge is very clear: "To make the best cycling event in Spain in MTB".

Together with ŠKODA, also as title sponsor, the leading brand in the manufacture of bicycles and Trek components, which supports the launch of the event as an official bicycle. Luis Muñoz, the company's marketing director, has acknowledged his enthusiasm for "a career born with the interest of being simple and honest, that wants to offer the best possible experience to 2.000 runners".

The presentation was attended by the mayor of Buitrago, Ángel Martínez, who has taken the opportunity to review the benefits of an unknown area that has much to discover.

Óscar Pereiro will be on the starting line

The event has culminated with the delivery of the symbolic dorsal with the number 1 to Óscar Pereiro, which has confirmed its participation in the premiere of this Great Fund. At his side, the goal is to bring together 2.000 riders.
