Swimming training for competition week

We leave you 3 variants of a training for the week of the competition

In the week of competition it is important not to waste forces and do an "activation" job to reach the objective in full conditions to be able to perform to the maximum.

That's why from the magazine Triathlete, recommend doing this 2-3 swim training days before the competition, as a set-up for the event.

Propose 3 training types, choose it depending on your level of swimming

OPTION A

* 2,500 total meters *

  • 300 free swim / 200 pull / 100 kick
  • 6 × 50 over 50 seconds (25 fast / 25 easy)
  • 4 × 200 on 2: 50 (rhythm of competition)
  • 100 easy
  • 5 × 100 on 1: 40 ( shovels, strong rhythm)
  • 200 back to calm

OPTION B:

* 2,000 total meters *

  • 200 free swim / 200 pull / 100 kick
  • 6 × 50 on: 60 (25 fast / 25 easy)
  • 3 × 200 on 4: 00 (rhythm of competition)
  • 50 easy
  • 4 × 100 on 2: 00 (shovels, strong rhythm)
  • 150 back to calm

OPTION C:

* 1,500 total meters *

  • 200 free swim / 100 pull / 100 kick
  • 5 × 50 w /: 15 rec (25 fast / 25 easy)
  • 2 × 200 w /: 30 rec (rhythm of competition)
  • 50 easy5 × 50 w /: 15 rec
  • (25 fast / 25 easy)
  • 150 back to calm
