«The motorcyclist came quite quickly and when he saw us he got scared, he slowed down, but the speed was such that he did not control the motorcycle and he came face to face with us»

According to the newspaper ABC, a motorcyclist ran over four cyclists yesterday during the penultimate stage of the Return to Colombia that ended yesterday with a circuit of 100 kilometers in Medellín.

The most affected were the current champion of the Vuelta a Colombia, Aristobulus Cala (Strongman) and Luis Lopez (Sogamoso Incluyente), brother of Miguel Angel "Superman" Lopez (Astana), who is ready to run the Vuelta a España.

«The timing of the accident was in seconds. We were arriving at Carmen de Viboral in a slightly closed curve and the motorcyclist came quite fast and when he saw us he got scared, he braked, but the speed was such that he did not control the motorcycle and came head-on against uss”, Cala told the newspaper El Tiempo. He added that the most beaten was the brother of "Superman" López, who was taken by ambulance to a hospital.

Cala explained that the accident has three fingers of the injured left hand, bruises on the left arm as well as lacerations on the back and that his bicycle was destroyed. He added that this Sunday they will take "X-rays and some resonances to rule out any serious injury that may be present in the back, hip or coccyx."
