Cycling Federation card differences

Is it possible to train with the cycling card in Phase 0 of the unconfinement?

The Spanish Cycling Federation has published in its web page A statement explaining how you can do sports on the bicycle from May 2, the date on which the first measures of confinement will be lifted.

3 types of cards or licenses

There are  3 types of federation card,

El Cyclist Card it has multiple advantages but it is not federative license since it is focused on leisure cycling. Therefore, the user of the Card is not considered a federated athlete.

Cyclotourist License and Cycling License Differences

The main difference between Bicycle Touring License and the Cyclist Card is that with the License you can participate in cycling tests and in those that call this category (such as some marathons)

Also with the Cycling tourism license, compulsory accident insurance is available, regulated by Royal Decree 849/1993, which offers greater health coverage in the event of a sports accident

In the case ofl Cyclist Card it cannot be raced, it is recreational and non-federated, and offers limited accident insurance.

As for the Competition Cyclist License, it is reserved for those who compete or professionals.

Cycling in Phase 0

After the publication of the 'Plan for the transition to a new normality' by the Government of Spain, the following conditions are established for professional and federated sport and for non-professional sport

Professional and federated sport:

Individual professional and federated trainings will be allowed, as well as basic training of professional leagues, provided that the sports activity is carried out without contact.

The insurance of the federal license will cover the bicycle outings as soon as these can be carried out and as long as the conditions that can be established by the central and / or autonomous government are met.

Non-professional sport:

Non-contact sports activity (such as riding a bike) will be allowed provided it is done individually and with adequate protection (distance and mask, when possible, etc.).

We are waiting for the Government to clarify more specifically how and when the practice of outdoor sports can be carried out.
