(VIDEO) What happens to a professional if he chooses a bad development on a port chrono?

The Team Jumbo-Visma cyclist had to set foot on the ground due to a bad choice of development

In the first stage of the Tour of the Basque Country, which was disputed in 11 time trial format, 2kilometros, the cyclists had to ascend to the "Alto de Antío" a third category port. This "wall" would have to make few differences at first, but in the case of not choosing well the development of the test, it can take its toll.

This happened to the team cyclist Jumbo-Visma George Bennett, where he was forced to kick the ground in the last meters of ascension, in an agonizing struggle to try to reach the top of the ascent. The effort to choose the wrong development must be added the humidity that had the asphalt, which made it difficult to walk to get back on the bike.

Finally, the cyclist got back up thanks to one of Shimano's assistants
