Abu Dhabi will host the Multisport Championships in 2026 

Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, has been chosen as the venue for the prestigious World Triathlon Multisport Championships in 2026.  

This decision, made by the World Triathlon Executive Committee, reflects Abu Dhabi's continued commitment to triathlon, a sport that has gained a prominent place in the hearts of athletes and fans globally. 

Marisol Casado, President of World Triathlon and IOC member, expressed her enthusiasm for the choice of Abu Dhabi, highlighting the city's previous experience in organizing high-level triathlon events.  

The city has organized many events, with a spectacular setting appreciated by the best triathletes in the world. 

Bill O'Regan, CEO of Modon, representing various Abu Dhabi bodies, confirmed the city's commitment to delivering an unforgettable event for athletes and spectators alike.  

Abu Dhabi's Hudayriyat Island, known for its beauty and modern facilities, will be the epicenter of this exciting championship. 

The World Triathlon Multisport Championship is an event that brings together various competitions, including duathlon, long distance triathlon, aquabike, aquathlon and cross triathlon.  

This sports festival, which has become one of the most important events on the World Triathlon calendar, attracts thousands of athletes from around the world, creating a unique atmosphere of competition and camaraderie. 

The history of the World Triathlon Multisport Championships began in 2017 in Penticton, Canada, and since then it has toured various cities, each bringing their unique touch to the event. 

 The 2026 edition in Abu Dhabi promises to be an unforgettable experience, not only for the high-level competition, but also for the opportunity to enjoy a city that is a melting pot of cultures and modernity.
