Announced the men's start list of the PTO European Open of Ibiza

There are still big names to be confirmed

The Professional Triathletes Organization (PTO) has released the men's race start list of the opening test PTO European Open that will be held in Ibiza on Saturday, May 6.

The number 1 in the ranking will be Kristian Blummenfelt.

The twenty-nine year old Norwegian commented: “Finishing at the top of the 2022 PTO world ranking was something I am very proud of and I will try to repeat in 2023.

But since I didn't manage to win a PTO Open last year, that's something I definitely want to add to my resume.".

Young talent looking to challenge Blummenfelt

However, it will not be easy for Blummenfelt, as there will be several young contenders for victory.

The presence of the number 3 in the world PTO the Danish stands out Magnus ditlev  and the number 4 the French Sam Laidlow of 23 years

Event of “Olympic proportions” according to the PTO CEO

PTO CEO Sam Renouf commented on the announcement of the field of competitors:

"With Great Triathletes still to be announced, this is destined to be one of the most talked about events of the year, a battle of 'Olympic proportions'.''.

Schedule

The PTO European Open will feature a women's and men's 100km race (2km swim; 80km bike; 18km run) in Ibiza Town, against the stunning Balearic backdrop and alongside the Triathlon World Championship Multisport 2023.

The two PTO races will take place on Saturday 6th May, with the women's start at 08:15 CET and the men's at 09:45 CET.

Both will be broadcast live to more than 170 territories around the world, thanks to the PTO Tour's partnerships with Warner Bros. Discovery and a variety of other international, regional and local broadcasters, including DAZN, beIN Sports and SPOTV.

La female start list of the 2023 PTO European Open was announced yesterday and another four stars for each of the races will be announced tomorrow (Thursday April 13).

The PTO Tour 2023 kicks off in Ibiza on May 6, before heading to Milwaukee on August 4-5 for the PTO US Open and then on to Singapore for the first ever PTO Asian Open on August 19-20.
