The European Winter Triathlon Championship will be held in March

Europe Triathlon has confirmed that the European Winter Triathlon Championships in Cheile Gradistei (Romania) it will finally be disputed between the days March 13-14, 2021.

The test now had to be postponed for the situation in Romania but now the date has been confirmed

Preparations are going according to plan and The Romanian Federation has given tAll the steps necessary to make the race safe for all the participants.

 They even went one step further and are adding snow (120 tons) to ensure the smooth running of the competition.

Cheile Gradiștei is one of the few places free from Covid-19

Vlad Stoica, President of Triathlon Romania said

“Triathlon România is happy to once again host the European Winter Triathlon Championships in Cheile Gradiștei. 

Everything is in place, including 120 tons of snow for backup.

 However, Cheile Gradiștei comune is one of the few places in the world that is 100% covid19 free and together with Europe Triathlon, World Triathlon and local authorities we will make sure we have a safe race for everyone"

It will be the first event of the season

In Europe Triathlon, the excitement to celebrate what will be the first event of the season is also increasing, its president Renato Bertrandi, commented:

“It is a great pleasure to be able to confirm that the European Winter Triathlon Championship will proceed as planned.

We are committed to always putting safety at the top of our priorities and we are pleased that the Romanian NF have given us all the assurance that the race has adopted all the necessary countermeasures to give our Athletes the possibility of a fair and safe race .
