French Alsace stands as the perfect destination for this Christmas.

The Colmar market is classified as the second best in Europe, if its medieval town at any time of the year is pure beauty and romanticism, seeing it decorated for Christmas is certainly a unique experience.

Added to this is its proximity to the Vosges massif, a mountain system that includes two regional natural parks: to the south, the Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural Park, and to the north, el Northern Vosges Regional Natural Park which is a paradise for sports enthusiasts, both for cycling and running training, and even swimming in summer in one of its lakes.

Arrival at BASEL airport and ROADSURFER camper rental

To rent your camper you will have to travel from Basel airport to the Roadsurfer headquarters which is 65 km away, the route is very simple and you can find all the information on its website while you make your camper reservation. 

Travel to the Alsace area

Only 30 km from the Roadsurfer headquarters you will find the city of COLMAR, which has parking for motorhomes where you can spend the night.

But if you prefer to stay in a specific AC area for motorhomes, we recommend going to the nearby town of Eguisheim, which is certainly a must-see place for its beauty (AC Area, Rue du Buhl, 68420 Eguisheim, France)

Training in the Vosges area

If cycling is your forte, you can enjoy the long weekend of one of its routes, less than 1 hour from where you will be staying, in this link you will be able to find some proposal where we recommend you do The Route des Crêtes which is considered by some to be the Alpe d'Huez of the Vosges

Colmar Christmas Market

Colmar is a beautiful medieval city that has canals, picturesque corners and alleys where charming half-timbered houses are located.

At Christmas you can find a total of 6 markets differentiated by their themes, where wooden figures and local crafts stand out.

This market remains open from November 23 to December 29.

Other places to visit in Alsace and a few kilometers from Colmar are undoubtedly Estransbourg and Eguisheim, considered one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, and of which from Triathlon News we can corroborate this.
