Spanish triathlon makes history

Javier Gómez Noya is proclaimed for the fourth time Triathlon World Champion while Mario Mola gets the runner-up.

Excitement until the end. It has not been possible to ask for more of the grand final of the Triathlon World Series where Alistair Brownlee has achieved victory after making an attack in the cycling sector that allowed him to reach the finish line with 20 seconds ahead Mario Mola and 23 about Javier Gómez Noya.

From the beginning the test has been presented as a battle of Alistair, where the Englishman tried several times to leave the group until in the penultimate lap of the cycling sector he managed to make the break together with Reinaldo Colucci and Kristian Blummenfelt  beating the peloton where the 1 who would play the World Cup were by more than 3 minute, Javier Gómez Noya, Mario Mola and Jonathan Brownlee

Once in the race Alistair's dominance over the foot race was very clear from the first kilometer marking a strong pace that put him in the lead until the end of the race.

Behind the group of Noya, Mola and Jonathan Brownlee started the race on foot with a 1:18 disadvantage, but the 3 best of the world championship printed a great pace with a time of 14:14 in the first 5 km, which, they served to overcome positions until reaching the final podium.

The trio was together until the last lap where Noya made an attack that took Jonathan down, contesting the second and third places of the test with Mario Mola.

Alistair Bronwlee got the victory with a 1 time: 48: 44 followed by Mario Mola in second position with a time of 1: 49: 04 and Javier Gómez Noya (1: 49: 07) occupying the third position. Jonathan Brownlee finished fourth to 38 seconds of his brother.

With the second and third place of the Spaniards they managed to add the necessary points so that Javier Gómez Noya proclaimed himself World Champion y Mario Mola Sub-champion of the 2014 triathlon world series.

The rest of the Spanish participation ended with the 36 position Vicente Hernández, the 40ª position by Francecs Godoy and the abandonment of Fernando Alarza due to injury in running race.
