Spain, Best European Triathlon Federation of the year

La Spanish Federation of Triathlon, represented by its president José Hidalgo and by the general secretary Alicia García, was the great protagonist of the Annual European Triathlon Gala organized by the European Triathlon Federation in Samorin (Slovakia) during this weekend, a city that also hosted the ETU International Congress.

Spain, nominated 5 times

The Spanish Triathlon Federation was nominated up to five times within the different recognitions that were granted during the celebration of the Gala, being the country that had to go to receive its recognition the most times.

José Hidalgo made his assessment once the gala was over, noting that "andWe are very happy to have been chosen as the best European Federation of the year, for the recognition granted and for the rest of the nominations.

The country that took the stage the most times during the celebration of the gala was us".

Nominations and Awards 2023

These were the nominations that FETRI received and the awards received:

• Awarded as Best European Federation of the Year, for the second consecutive season, in a ranking that measures the sporting results of all categories, the organization of events, promotion, strategy...
• FETRI will not be eligible to receive the award as the best European federation in 2023 because that is how it was established in the regulations, so that no team can repeat more than two years in a row from this season.
• Nominated for the best venue of the year BilbaoBizkaia, being in 2nd position only behind the European Championship in Munich.
• Nominated for best paratriathlete of the year, Dani Molina
• Nominated for the best paratriathlete of the year, Rakel Mateo
• Second in the European Junior Triathlon Ranking.
