Faris Al-Sultan and Kristin Möller, winners of the Ironman Lanzarote 2013

The big favorite of Ironman Lanzarote 2013, Faris Al-Sultan, has fulfilled this Saturday with the forecasts, doing so with the triumph after a tough test with exit and final in Puerto del Carmen.

This participant, federated in the United Arab Emirates, used a final time of 8 hours 42 minutes and 40 seconds, to make the 3.800 meters by swimming, the 180.2 kilometers by bicycle and the 42,2 kilometers by foot.

In the female category the triumph has been for the German Kristin Möller, according to the official classification, with a final time of 9 hours, 37 minutes and 35 seconds.

In men, the second position was for Spanish Miquel Blanchart, with a time of 8 hours, 52 minutes and 8 seconds; Estonian being third Kirill Kotsegarov, with a mark of 9 hours, 4 minutes and 9 seconds.

In women, the second place went to the Dutch Heleen Bij de Vaate, with a time of 10 hours, 9 minutes and 31 seconds; being third the Spanish Saleta Castro, with a mark when crossing the finish line in Puerto del Carmen of 10 hours, 14 minutes and 28 seconds.

It must be said that in the first hour they took the exit something more than 1.700 participants, from a poster with just 1.800 registered, thus marking a new mark of runners in the test, which will give 40 direct places for the Ironman in Hawaii.

Likewise, mention should be made of the treatment that the organization has given to the news media that wanted to give results live. They were vetoed, causing logical complaints from those affected. The organization claimed that it had the exclusive, despite the fact that the times were given quite late with respect to how the race has developed.
